Brangelina's French Quarter mansion hits the market

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt sell French Quarter home

New Orleans may be saying farewell to our favorite celebrity couple.  Then again, they might just be sick of the French Quarter! Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have listed their 1830's New Orleans mansion with Latter and Blum for $6.5 million.  It's a steep price, at $850/sq ft.

Located at 521 Governor Nicholls Street, the home is 7,645 sq ft with custom designed marble mantles & fireplaces, crown moldings, grand spiral staircase, elevator, private spacious patio w/pool, chef's gourmet kitchen with top of the line appliances and laundry room.  You'll also get a separate guest house and private parking for two cars.

There's one thing the couple plans to take with them, however.  The dining room chandelier is excluded from the deal.

Jolie and Pitt first bought the house in 2006.

Historic hidden gem oozes with old world charm

Working with buyers to find their dream homes in New Orleans, I come across the good, bad and the ugly. Yesterday, I stumbled upon the incredible!

Tucked into a quiet block of New Orleans' tourist-filled French Quarter is the home and office of Kim Hunter. She's not a buyer, but rather, the branch manager of Movement Mortgage.

She's lived in the historic home since she was one year old and every nook and cranny just oozes old world charm. From the exposed brick walls to the tucked away courtyard, there's a feeling of warmth that only 200 years of history can offer.

I think you'll fall in love as quickly as I did!

Reflections on Mardi Gras 2015

Mardi Gras martians The busy holiday and Mardi Gras seasons are finally over!  As we usher in Lent, I'm actually looking forward to Spring cleaning, home renovation and warmer weather.

The past couple months have been a whirlwind from Christmas to New Year's Eve, celebrating a new life with Beau's first birthday and life well lived at Grandma Stella's memorial.  Of course, we capped it all off with an extraordinary Mardi Gras Day in the French Quarter!

This year's costume theme was "Mardi Gras Martians" and I think we hit it out of the park.

Thanks to free two-day shipping with Amazon Prime (I swear they're not paying me), I ordered inexpensive costume items and accessories from all around the world.  We already had Joey's green suit, blazer and top hat.  After a few crafting sessions and a some serious stroller decorating, our in-style in-vasion was complete!

The partying may be over, but we have plenty to look forward to.  Our backyard is coming along, our upstairs is almost complete and our exterior facade renovation is getting underway!  I can't wait to see what the rest of 2015 holds for both our family and our home.

From blogging about homes to selling them!

St Philip Condo It's official!  I'm a licensed real estate agent in Louisiana!

I've been a lover of homes forever and have pondered selling them for years now.  So finally, I decided to bite the bullet.  I'm working with the amazingly talented Jon Huffman, who's not only my broker, but also my former co-anchor on Good Morning New Orleans.

So, if you're in the market to buy or sell a home in the New Orleans area, I'd be happy to help.  In the meantime, check out these pics of a stunner that caught my eye in the French Quarter.  The exposed brick is to-die-for!
