Party planning: Southern brunch for baby

southern brunch baby shower

It's a boy! Jessica and Austin are two of my favorite people in Louisiana, so when I heard their family was growing, I couldn't wait to help them celebrate.

We gathered the troops and put together a Southern-inspired brunch for baby! The color palette combined soothing blue, cream and tan with touches of burlap and rope to keep it masculine. Austin is known for his incredible homemade bow ties, so we had to incorporate a nod to dad! The backdrop was the beautiful home of our friends Chriss and Lon, which perfectly complimented the party's theme.

Food was simple, but delicious.  Savory breakfast bread pudding, chicken salad on croissants, artichoke dip, a cheese platter and Pinkberry frozen yogurt bar. We sipped on champagne, white wine, mimosas and sparkling water.  For dessert, Holly whipped up a batch of gorgeous vanilla cupcakes and we picked up cookies to compliment them. After the party, guests left with a jar of local honey, topped with our coordinating fabrics and tied with twine.

It was Southern shabby chic to a T!  Best of all, Jessica was showered with so much love from friends and family.  A perfect way to welcome baby Cullen into the world!
