Wedded Bliss at the Painted Rock Lodge

If you've never visited Northern California's Lake Tahoe, book a trip TODAY!  It's arguably one of the most beautiful places on earth.  The crystal clear, blue waters of the lake are surrounded by sky high snow-capped mountains.  In the summer, the lake bustles with swimmers, hikers, mountain bikers and boaters, while the winter months bring skiers, snowboarders and snowshoers out of the woodwork.  There are few things in this world I love more than sipping a piping hot cup of spiked cocoa in a Lake Tahoe lodge after spending a long, cold day on the slopes. Last weekend, my hilarious, outgoing and altogether amazing brother-in-law Danny married his charming, talented and beautiful wife Jessica.  It was a marriage 10 years in the making and Lake Tahoe's natural beauty was a perfect representation of their loving relationship.  The rehearsal dinner was held at Commons Beach, a locals hangout on the water with towering pines, rows of boats and bright white sands.  The ceremony itself was up the road at the Painted Rock Lodge, in neighboring Truckee.

Tucked off a wooden bridge and just feet from the trickling waters of the Truckee river, the lodge may be better described as a sprawling estate!  It features 5 guest suites, an upstairs game room, duel fountains, a hot tub, plentiful patios and even a boccie ball court!  Meanwhile, a second lodge is under construction just next door.  In a casual ceremony, perfectly fitting the couple, Jess and Danny tied the knot along the banks of the Truckee with friends, family and the towering Painted Rock bluff overhead.  It was wedded bliss... and a truly magical way to welcome my new sister to our growing family!
