New Orleans isn't exactly known for fashion. In fact, GQ Magazine named us among the top 40 worst dressed cities in America, thanks to our prolific passion for Saints paraphernalia. However, Tracee Dundas and some go-getters in town are hoping to turn that misconception around. She created Fashion Week New Orleans featuring runway shows, workshops, competitions and a marketplace that shines a bright spotlight on New Orleans burgeoning fashion industry and the incredible designers throughout the South.
With a group of friends in tow, I watched models strut the runway with designs by Maju, Luca Falcone, Stephanie M. Young, Ottilie Brodmann and Pearl Southern Couture, among others. The depth of talent and creativity took my breath away. I can't wait to see what next season holds!
